Mandatory GP Liaison: Ensuring Your Safety

Mandatory GP Liaison: Ensuring Your Safety

As a CQC-registered prescribing service, we require consent to share relevant information with your GP before initiating treatment with medications such as Wegovy® or Mounjaro®.

Why GP Liaison Matters

Continuity of Care

Your GP retains responsibility for your general medical care. Sharing information supports coordinated, transparent and safe treatment.

Clinical Safety

Weight management medications may interact with existing conditions or treatments. GP awareness reduces the risk of duplication, contraindication or fragmented care.

Accountable Prescribing

Integrated communication ensures that prescribing decisions align with your wider health profile and medical history.

How the Process Works

Clinical Assessment

During your initial consultation, we conduct a structured medical assessment including review of medical history, BMI and current medication.

Consent to Share Information

With your consent, we notify your GP that you are receiving weight management treatment from a private provider and share relevant prescribing information.Prescribing will not proceed without consent for appropriate GP communication.

Ongoing Communication

Where clinically appropriate, your GP may be informed of significant treatment changes, adverse events or discontinuation. This ensures safe, coordinated care across healthcare settings.

If you have questions about this process, our clinical team will provide further clarification.
